The Pardeshi House, designed by RM+H Architects, is a family home shaped by climate, simplicity, and openness. The design uses sloping roofs that respond to Nashik’s heavy monsoon rains, creating deep overhangs that protect the interiors while allowing the house to breathe. Open terraces extend the living spaces outward, offering places to sit, grow plants, and experience changing light through the day.

Verandahs and balconies wrap around the built form, acting as natural screens that reduce glare and heat while keeping the interiors bright and ventilated. These in-between spaces form a continuous edge around the house, creating a soft transition from inside to outside. At the center lies a courtyard that brings air and daylight into every room, becoming the calm core of the house where daily life naturally gathers.

The materials remain straightforward and familiar to the region. Exposed brick, lime plaster, and concrete are used honestly, without unnecessary finishes. Their tones and textures reflect the site’s natural setting and age gracefully with time. Every element, from the sloping roofs to the open verandahs, has been designed with a clear purpose  to respond to climate and to create comfort without dependence on mechanical systems.

The Pardeshi House represents RM+H Architects’ approach to architecture that values context, restraint, and lived experience. It is a simple house, but one that feels complete in its connection to light, air, and the land around it.
